Seahorses

Seahorses is the musical brainchild of Jon York. All Seahorses records are instrumental post-rock, but each one vary in approach, genre, and feel. Moons of Dust and Wind is an album full of sudden right turns, genre-blending chordal constructions, and a range from calm to frenzied that keeps the listener strapped in. Where it all began was with the world doesn't belong to us, it belongs to someone yet to come when Jon originally invited me to take a crack at this project back in 2017 where we sat together and played spontaneous and unplanned jams. As a result, the record has a free-flowing, spontaneous feel; tempos vary wildly as do the dynamics and sometimes even the time signature. What also resulted was a new musical connection between Jon and me of which I am most grateful and appreciative. I'm proud to have been featured on the drums on five Seahorses records.
